Place Ferblantier

Hand-hammered brass & copper metalwork · Marrakech, Marrakech-Safi

4.6(5)

Named for Marrakech's tinsmiths' square, Place Ferblantier is Yassine Belhaj's four-person metalworking studio in the medina's metalworkers' quarter. Sheet brass and copper are cut, raised, and hand-punched with a hammer and awl — no casting, no laser-cut shortcuts — the same pierced-star and chevron patterns that have lit Marrakech's riads for a century. Lanterns are wired for LED candles by default so they ship safely and work anywhere.

Every lantern and tray lists its hand-punch pattern name and whether it ships lantern-flat or fully assembled.

"This lantern is the centerpiece of my living room now. The hand-punched pattern throws the most incredible shadows at night."

— Nora Haddad, 5★

"Gorgeous tray, a touch heavier than expected which is honestly reassuring given the price."

— Chris Whitfield, 4★

"The rewiring for a US socket was done properly and it passed inspection with our electrician, no issues."
