Souk Taroudant Spice & Argan

Spice blends & cold-pressed argan oil · Taroudant, Souss Valley

4.8(5)

Rachid El Amrani grew up helping his mother blend ras el hanout in Taroudant's covered souk. Today his small stall sources argan oil directly from a women's cooperative in the Souss valley — the only place on earth argan trees grow wild — and blends spices to order in small batches so nothing sits on a shelf losing potency. Every jar is dated at the point of grinding, not packaging.

Spice listings note the harvest region and grind date; argan oil listings note cold-press date and whether it's culinary (toasted) or cosmetic (raw) grade.

"You can taste the difference between this and supermarket argan oil immediately. Nutty, not bitter."

— David Kim, 5★

"Saffron bloomed beautifully in warm milk, real color and aroma. A little pricey but genuine."
